tara
llewellyn
is a New York based actress, writer, and creator.
Since starting her professional career in 2014,
Tara has discovered a myriad of hats to
wear both on stage, off stage,
in front of, and behind the camera.
After moving to New York in pursuit of a career
on stage, Tara found herself drawn to
new musicals; building projects from the ground up
alongside a variety of working professionals.
She simultaneously built a career working backstage on
Broadway and Off-Broadway productions
in the wardrobe and wig departments, respectfully.
Subsequently, Tara started cultivating a knack for creating
her own artistic opportunities; and decided to
take the plunge into Television writing in early 2018.
She created, wrote, and produced her first series,
Under the Influence, alongside Viridian Coast Studios
in late 2019 and is currently in the midst of producing
her second series, Minnesota Ten.
Tara's performing portfolio is stacked with a
spectrum of new in-development musicals,
demo recordings, and regional premieres.
Notably, Tara starred as Zoe Tiller in the new musical #LoveStory at the NYC Fringe Festival
in 2015, reprising her role at The Green Room
in early 2019. Other favorite New York credits include Grease, I Love A Piano, and Chess.
By weaving her dual careers together, Tara wrote a one-woman show entitled
Seams & Songs recounting her time both on
and off stage and how those experiences
have shaped her career. It debuted in September of 2016 and has since been produced a total of three times.
Tara spent 2019 creating her first television
series, Under the Influence, which she wrote,
produced, and starred in. The project,
co-produced by Viridan Coast Studios,
is currently in the festival circuit.
