Shortly after moving to New York in 2014, Tara landed a dressing job at New World Stages working on the new musical Heathers.  This subsequently launched her into an unexpected career as a Wardrobe Supervisor for various Off-Broadway shows such as Desperate Measures, Songbird, Himself and Nora, and several more.  She was also simultaneously the Assistant Costume Designer for many of the shows she supervised.  This experience led her to dabble in designing for other projects, most notably Capital Advice a pilot produced by AKA Studio Productions in 2015.
In 2016, Tara was hired as a dresser for the Broadway Revival of CATS at the Neil Simon Theater.  She went on to join IATSE Local 764 in 2017 and has been a member ever since.  Her other Broadway dressing credits include Pretty Woman, Moulin Rouge, and currently Mrs. Doubtfire at The Stephen Sondheim Theater.  She was fortunate enough to assist Sky Switser, the Associate Costume Designer of Pretty Woman,  halfway through their one-year run with many of the replacements that came through the production, including Tony-nominated actor Adam Pascal.   Tara also spent two weeks assisting the design team during pre-production of last season's Tony Award-Winning musical Hadestown.
Her involvement as a company member for various Broadway productions has since allowed Tara to become an active participant in fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids; having joined the casts of CATS and Pretty Woman on the last three volumes of Carols for a Cure, and performing at the Minskoff Theater and the New Amsterdam Theater for the 31st Annual Easter Bonnet Competition and the
29th Annual Gypsy of the Year Competition, respectively.
By weaving her dual careers together, Tara wrote a one-woman show entitled Seams & Songs chronologically recounting her time both on and off stage and how those experiences have shaped her career.  It debuted in September of 2016 and has since been produced a total of three times.
Tara is also a freelance website designer.  Please contact below for rates and inquiries.
